Cover Nation

In this week’s episode, we meet up with Christopher Carlson of Cocoanut Grove fame to detail his cover of “Mack the Knife,” and get a small sample.

Cocoanut Grove

Chris Carlson is 99.99% of Cocoanut Grove, an IDM/grind hybrid out of Massachusetts. For his first (and only as of now) cover, he went for a classic - “Mack the Knife.”

The song originated in Germany in 1928 as “Die Moritat von Mackie Messer,” and was composed by Kurt Weill with lyrics by Bertolt Brecht.
